1.The use of the courts is limited to members and their guests.No guest may play at any time without a member present.

2.The courts are available for use between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. The lights will be turned off promptly at 9:00 p.m.

3.Playing time is limited to one hour for both singles and doubles whenever other members are waiting to use the courts. You may only finish your game, not set, not to exceed five minutes, on either court.

Reserved Court

4.Court #1 (East side: closest to gate) shall be available for use on an advance reservation basis.  The reservation procedures are:

  • A court may be reserved by signing the Reserve Court sign-up sheet posted at the tennis courts.  A reserved court may be reserved two days prior to day of play.  This would allow you to sign in on Thursday for a court on Saturday.  For convenience you may sign in at 9 p.m. the prior evening.  Thus for a reserved court Saturday you can sign in any time after 9 p.m. Wednesday.  No member family may make more than one reservation until the reserved time has been played.  No person may play on the reserved court for two consecutive hours if others are waiting for a court.  (No back-to-back play.)
  • Reservations may only be made by signing the reserved sign-up sheets posted at the court.  No telephone reservations will be accepted.
  • Members may sign up their own name only and no person may sign in for any other family at any time.
  • If the court is not taken within 10 minutes after the hours, the
  • Reservation privileges may be suspended for members who forfeit time without justifiable reason.

Unreserved Court

Court #2 (East side: closest to gate) shall be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the following rules:

All players must sign up at time of play and the time play starts must be noted on unreserved court sheet located at tennis courts. Failure to do this will require players to relinquish the court to newly arriving players. (Court time begins at time of play, not necessarily on the hours.)

Playing time is limited to one hour, if others are waiting. If a court is held beyond one hour it must be relinquished to newly arriving players.

Players on the reserved court must complete their full hour of play before signing in on the unreserved court.

Adult Priority Time

6.Adults will have court priority beginning at 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. The following rules will apply during these times:

Children (under 16 years of age) may not reserve time on the reserved court.

If adults are waiting at the time a court becomes available, children without a member adult may not take the reserved or unreserved court if either should become available.

Children who begin play when adults are waiting shall be permitted to complete their one hour of court time.

Court Etiquette

7.Only tennis shoes are permitted within the court's enclosure.

8.Only actual players (no more than four per court) are permitted within the court enclosure.

No drinking, radios, skateboards, bicycles, eating, or smoking is allowed within the court enclosure.

10.Walking behind players and retrieving balls from adjacent court shall be done only when active play has ceased.

11.Tennis players practicing on handball courts must relinquish to handball players.

12.Please leave the ‘sign-up sheet area’ as soon as possible when courts are in use.

13.When leaving the court, please leave as quickly and quietly as possible. Do your talking outside the fence. Do not walk behind the unreserved court until play has temporarily ceased.

14.Please do not disturb or distract the players with excessive noise.

15.Please make every effort to remove your name from the sign-up sheet as soon as possible when unable to keep your reservation.

Court Administration

16.The Board of Directors shall have authority to administer the operating rules of the courts. During the pool season, the Pool Manager or his/her assistants shall have full authority to administer and enforce the rules.

17.Constructive comments regarding tennis court operations should be placed in writing and directed to the TallyHo Board of Directors.

Parking

It is requested that all cars of persons using the Tennis Courts be parked in the Club parking lot and not in the adjacent circle.
